From October 1, 2026, foreign visitors entering Mainland Tanzania must purchase mandatory inbound travel insurance costing USD 44 per person. The policy covers medical emergencies for up to 92 days. Travellers entering through Mainland Tanzania must buy insurance from the National Insurance Corporation, while those entering through Zanzibar must use the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation. Visitors are advised to purchase insurance before departure to avoid delays during arrival and entry procedures.
