Odisha has launched a luxury cruise service on Chilika Lake, inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, ahead of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025. Featuring two modern vessels, Lake Queen and Diamond Princess, the cruises offer air-conditioned cabins, onboard dining, and stunning views of iconic spots like Kalijai Island and Nalabana Bird Sanctuary. Part of the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, the initiative aims to boost tourism by showcasing Chilika’s natural beauty and biodiversity. The launch aligns with Odisha’s preparations for the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, expected to attract global visitors and enhance the state’s appeal as a premier travel destination.
