Madhya Pradesh is expected to add more than 2,500 three-, four- and five-star hotel rooms across the Malwa region before Simhastha 2028. Expansion is focused on Indore, Ujjain, Omkareshwar and Kalakund, supported by improving connectivity, religious tourism projects and infrastructure development. The growing accommodation pipeline reflects rising pilgrimage demand and strengthens the state’s ability to host visitors. Similar hospitality expansion is also occurring around other Indian religious destinations including Ayodhya and Varanasi.
