From September 1, travellers flying into and out of India will be able to present electronic boarding cards at immigration counters instead of requiring physical boarding passes for stamping. Physical boarding cards will remain accepted but will no longer be stamped. The change is intended to reduce passenger inconvenience and errors associated with boarding-pass stamping. The Bureau of Immigration initiative also supports a more seamless airport process and aligns with planned integration of e-passports into India’s immigration framework.
