IndiGo is reportedly evaluating Embraer’s E2 regional jets as it looks to expand connectivity across regional and secondary-city markets. The aircraft, offering 110–146 seats, could help the airline overcome slot constraints at major airports while providing greater capacity than its current ATR turboprops. With India’s UDAN scheme supporting regional demand, the potential move could strengthen IndiGo’s network by bridging the gap between turboprops and larger narrow-body aircraft.
