Destination weddings are becoming increasingly popular in India, projected to account for 30-32% of all weddings by 2028, according to a WedMeGood report. Currently making up nearly a quarter of ceremonies, this trend reflects a shift towards intimate gatherings. Couples are investing more, with domestic destination weddings averaging ₹58 lakh and international ones over ₹1.5 crore. Celebrations have extended to an average of 3.2 days. The focus is on personalized experiences, luxury travel, unique events, specialized menus, and wellness activities, with growing demand in Asian destinations.
