Assam is developing a network of expressways and high-speed corridors aimed at bringing all regions of the state within a six-hour travel radius. A key project is the ₹22,864 crore Shillong–Silchar High-Speed Corridor, which will improve connectivity, reduce logistics costs, boost tourism, and strengthen trade links across Assam and other Northeastern states.
