Indian Railways has approved new 220 kmph trainsets as part of its next phase of rail modernisation, aiming to enhance speed, comfort and connectivity across major routes. The trains are expected to operate at speeds up to 200 kmph and will feature modern, fully air-conditioned coaches with improved passenger amenities. The development is set to reduce travel time between key cities and strengthen tourism by improving access to major destinations.
