Indian Railways has introduced 202 new train stoppages across Assam, West Bengal and Bihar to improve connectivity and passenger convenience. The move brings major and premium train services closer to smaller towns, reducing dependence on major junctions. Implemented on a trial basis across key routes in the Northeast Frontier Railway zone, the initiative is expected to enhance regional mobility, reduce travel time and support economic activity.
