West Bengal has launched the Purulia–Delhi Express along with a series of railway upgrades including modernised stations, expanded tracks and the rollout of the Kavach safety system. These initiatives aim to improve connectivity, enhance passenger safety and reduce delays, while strengthening eastern India’s railway network and supporting regional economic growth.
