Indian Railways is set to launch the Vande Bharat Sleeper train between Howrah in West Bengal and Kamakhya in Assam in January 2026. The overnight service will offer faster and more comfortable travel, supporting tourism across eastern India. Designed with modern sleeper coaches and improved onboard amenities, the train aims to enhance connectivity for pilgrims, families, and leisure travellers while encouraging rail-based tourism between Assam and West Bengal.
