Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) collaborates with Jammu & Kashmir government to transform Srinagar into the world’s first energy-efficient tourist capital through LED streetlights, sustainable infrastructure, and green hotels. The region welcomed 2.35 crore domestic and 65,452 international tourists in 2024. Air India plans increased flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, while Emirates and Qatar Airways consider expanding Middle East connections. The initiative aims to attract eco-conscious travelers while supporting local economies through sustainable tourism practices.
