Ethiopia and Italy have launched a €1.7 million project to promote community-based tourism and heritage conservation in Tigray’s Wukro–Gheralta Belt. Focused on post-conflict recovery, the initiative aims to restore ancient cultural landmarks, empower local communities, and foster sustainable livelihoods through tourism. By integrating heritage preservation with economic growth, this partnership positions Tigray as a model for sustainable development and cultural tourism in post-recovery regions.
