Greece has announced a €585 million program to upgrade port infrastructure, strengthen island connectivity, and accelerate green maritime initiatives. Backed by EU and national funds, the plan covers 30 island port upgrades, cold ironing systems at 23 ports, and new safety measures in line with EU standards. By enhancing capacity, embracing decarbonization, and modernizing security, Greece aims to position itself as a leader in sustainable maritime operations and boost long-term economic competitiveness.
