Somerset will welcome a major tourism upgrade with the opening of the Wellington railway station in 2028. Located on the London-Penzance mainline, the station will give visitors faster access to Somerset’s countryside, heritage sites, and towns. Backed by a £45 million investment, the project is expected to boost local businesses, create jobs, and strengthen Somerset’s appeal as a cultural and natural destination in the South West.
