HS2 has completed the Colne Valley viaduct, now Britain’s longest rail bridge at 2.1 miles. The structure spans lakes, roads, rivers, and canals, carrying trains at speeds of up to 200mph. Built by Align JV, the project began in 2021 and recently finished with parapets, noise barriers, and monitoring systems. Officials hailed the bridge as a global engineering landmark and a key step in HS2’s evolving high-speed rail network.
