Kolkata is set for smoother Durga Puja journeys with the launch of new state-of-the-art AC local trains on the Sealdah-Bongaon and Sealdah-Krishnanagar routes. Designed to ease overcrowding during the festive rush, these trains feature air-conditioned coaches, CCTV cameras, GPS updates, and women’s reserved compartments. With affordable fares starting at ₹35, Eastern Railway aims to provide commuters a safer, more comfortable, and efficient way to reach Kolkata for the celebrations.
