The Meghalaya Cabinet has approved leasing 273 acres near Umiam Lake for tourism development over 60 years. Plans include five-star hotels, lake cruises, and upscale facilities. Complementing this is the Chief Minister’s Regional Connectivity Scheme 2025, aimed at improving transport links across the state. Together, these initiatives will enhance tourism, infrastructure and economic growth while showcasing Meghalaya’s natural beauty and cultural appeal.
