Today, we all need a break from this break, and what can be better than travel. The new normal is the way to live now, so we have to adapt to it and move forward. I believe we all are looking for a short holiday to nearby places. Some time back, I traveled to Udaipur and was simply in love with the City of Lakes. So, I thought of sharing my experience to help you plan your weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Udaipur City of Lakes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Udaipur, with its perfect location surrounded by Aravali Hills, is a historic city with a lot to offer to its tourists from a magnificent Fort to beautiful Havelis and traditional Rajasthani food.<\/p>\n\n\n

I started my day by visiting Jagmohan Temple; it is a beautiful temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located just outside the City Palace. After that, we went to visit the City Palace, which is the major landmark. It is a huge palace, where one-third of it is converted into a museum for public viewing, and rest is still occupied by the royal family. I suggest people should take a guided tour of this place, as it is the best way to see and understand its history. Inside the Palace, you can see numerous paintings and artifacts of the royal family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, one can enjoy their meal at Natraj restaurant, which serves authentic Rajasthani food (you can even opt for a thali system).

In the evening, don’t miss the Sound and Light Show at the City Palace. The program is very interesting as it narrates the story of the kings and queens of the Palace.<\/p>\n\n\n

The next day, we went to Chittorgarh Fort, which is located about 120 km from Udaipur. The fort is in ruins but has its own rustic charm. In its complex, one can see some temples, including the Iconic Meera Bai Temple and a garden. I will recommend hiring a tourist guide, which will give you a complete brief about the history of this place and how King Ratan Singh Rajput and his queen Rani Padmavati had lived and all battles they fought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
